Job Description:

Job DescriptionRed Stag Fulfillment is an order fulfillment company for online retailers and eCommerce businesses.  Headquartered in Knoxville, Tennessee, we were founded by eCommerce entrepreneurs who wanted to redefine the 3PL experience for clients and employees. By leveraging technology to ensure reliable, secure, and fast shipping, we have quickly established ourselves as a world-class fulfillment company — and we're ready for more. Red Stag is a unique and special organization. We understand that our team members are our most important asset. We have grown into one of America's best order fulfillment companies by building a team of people who are eager to be a part of our growth. To make this happen, our team members show up and give their all every day. Our core values are of paramount importance and inform and guide all of our decisions. Here at Red Stag:

  • We treat others with dignity and respect.
  • We sweat the small stuff.
  • We have positive attitudes.
  • We act like we own it.
  • We always seek to improve. The core mission of the Buyer is to support the Company in purchasing goods and services at an optimal value/price combination. The Buyer supports sustaining or increasing the Company's unit economics through reinforcing proper purchasing processes within the Company as well as effective negotiations with vendors. You are the one we are looking for if:You are builder and developer, whether that be creating a better process or putting together an insightful analysis. You love helping people and supporting the business. You are much more uncomfortable when you have too little to do than when you have too much to do. You must know why things work and why we do things the way that we do and you don't stop asking questions until you truly understand the "why", and you regularly ask if we could do things differently. One of your least favorite responses is, "Because that is how we have always done it." You love to dig into the numbers and processes and "tear things apart" so you can understand root cause and find ways to do things faster and more accurately. Your main purpose in doing so is to free up time to dig into other areas where you can learn and improve. Challenges caused by growth and scaling a business excite you. You love procurement for so many reasons, but to name just a few because 1) you love getting the most value for your money, 2) you enjoy the challenge of finding the best deal, and 3) you understand that the money you save the Company can be used to invest in areas that will either help the company grow or become more efficient. You are detail oriented, know how to keep the trains running on time (or even better, have them arrive early) and geek out creating analyses to figure out the best option. You treat the Company's money like your own, and you don't like to let a penny of your own money go to waste! You love to win AND have fun. Challenges and a long list of improvement projects energize you much more than they frighten or discourage you. You are confident in your abilities to figure things out, but humble enough to realize that you don't know everything. You are a project manager extraordinaire and can self-manage and still see great value in collaboration and feedback. You're equally comfortable with the people and conversations you'd have with the CFO as those you'd find on the warehouse floor (and you're not confused about which one is more important to our business [hint, not the CFO!]).You are seeking an opportunity to join a rapidly growing company and be part of a team responsible for serving and growing the business. You aren't afraid to roll up your sleeves, get up to speed quickly, and do what it takes to get the job done. If you are more comfortable with someone directing your day-to-day activity — i.e., telling you exactly what to do — then this is absolutely not the position for you. But, if you like the idea of diving right in, getting stuff done, and actively growing in new areas, then this might be your perfect fit.Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
    • Submit all operations invoices and expense reports to Accounts Payable within 48 hours.
    • Source equipment & supplies following the company's standard list.
    • Vendor Relations at each RSF Location.
    • Billing Audits: Audit charges from operations leads before Accounts Receivable starts billing for the month.
    • Place daily orders for corrugated materials, packing materials and pallets using department standard operating procedures ("SOPs") for forecasting.
    • Streamline invoicing to AP.
    • Upload and send weekly budget report to Procurement Manager.
    • Quarterly pricing renegotiations with vendors.
    • Run box and materials usage bi-weekly to keep vendors up to date on our volume and needs.
    • Stay within the 3-day live inventory goal.
    • Manage procurement of all Vendor documentation for Certificate of Insurance, ACH information and NDAs.
    • Run bi-weekly CCD audits for missing invoices or receipts to make first of the month submissions smoother.
    • Watch for any discrepancies in vendor invoices.
    • Coordinate with RSF supplies team for smooth delivery of materials.
    • Maintain master vendor list that includes key agreement terms.
    • Work with Procurement Manager to create a vendor grading system.Qualifications/Requirements:
      • Background in accounts payable or purchasing.
      • Comfortable with negotiating terms (pricing, agreement term, etc.) with vendors
      • Intellectually curious, asking questions to understand business needs and minimize unnecessary spend.
      • Tech Savvy, including intermediate Excel experience.
      • Excellent verbal communication skills.
      • Must have the ability to multi-task and keep track of various parts of the operation.
      • Must be able to pass a background check and drug screening.
      • Have a continuous improvement mentality.
      • Candidate needs to be self-motivated (get stuff done mentality), efficient, and display a professional demeanor.
      • Attention to detail.
      • Service oriented. Understands that procurement exists to support the business.
