ITR Specialist IV, Statistician, Office of Information Technology US-Tennessee-Knoxville Regular Full-time, Pay Grade 44 ITR Specialist IV, Statistician, OIT The University of Tennessee, Knoxville Office of Information Technology, Research Computer Support The Office of Information Technology at The University of Tennessee Knoxville seeks qualified applicants for a position that focuses on customer support of both computing and statistical analysis. The position will be responsible for assisting researchers on their experimental design, data management, analysis, graphics and computing work including software installations; writing results sections for journal articles and client documentation on statistical computing; helping clients select computer software and hardware to solve their research problems; developing and teaching workshops in research computing; and takes an active role mentoring students and colleagues. Qualifications: Required Qualifications: A Master's degree in Statistics or related field, plus five years of experience applying statistics is required; a Ph. D. is preferred. Years in graduate school may qualify as experience. Excellent writing, communication and interpersonal skills required. The ability to work independently and prioritize assignments with minimal supervision, as a member of a team, and as a team leader is required. Desired Qualifications: PStat accreditation desired. Expertise in at least two of: R, SAS, SPSS, JMP, or Stata required; expertise in more than two desired. Proven experience in linear mixed models, categorical data analysis, generalized linear models, and related power analysis is desired. Ability to provide expert level guidance on best practices in statistics is desired. Proven experience mentoring students and colleagues is desired. Expertise in R, Stata, and Python is preferred. Ability to research, learn, and support new software packages. A track record of publishing in peer-reviewed scientific journals is preferred. Teaching experience preferred.
