OCCUPATIONAL THERAPY Position Category Faculty Job Description The
Doctoral Capstone Coordinator for the Department of Occupational
Therapy at Lincoln Memorial University-DeBusk College of
Osteopathic Medicine is responsible for supporting the Director of
Clinical Education in ensuring the consistency and quality of the
doctoral projects for students enrolled in the Doctor of
Occupational Therapy program. The Doctoral Capstone Coordinator
will play an essential role in the planning and implementing of the
capstone project and experience throughout the curriculum as well
as develop, maintain, and oversee policies and procedures for
project development, selection, utilization, compliance, and
assessment as outlined in the ACOTE Guidelines for Doctoral
Capstone. The Doctoral Capstone Coordinator is a core faculty
member expected to teach in the area of expertise and engage in
student evaluation and must possess an ongoing scholarly agenda and
maintain a record of service consistent with the expectations of
the program, institution, and the evaluative criteria outlined by
ACOTE.Required Qualifications Doctor of Occupational Therapy degree
awarded by an institution that is accredited by a USDE recognized
regional accrediting body and *licensed or able to be licensed in
Tennessee by the Tennessee Board of Occupational Therapy
*Documented expertise in their area(s) of teaching responsibility
requiredPreferred Qualifications *Academic doctorate (e.g. PhD,
EdD, etc.) *minimum of 3 years of experience in higher education.

influencing the practice of occupational therapy and associated
impact on doctoral capstone experienceJob Duty manage
administrative responsibilities consistent with ACOTE,
federal/state regulations, institutional policy, and capstone
setting requirementsJob Duty monitors student placement at
facilities and supervises and communicates with students during the
capstone experiencesJob Duty ensure that the capstone design is a
collaboration between faculty mentor and student and is provided in
setting(s) consistent with the program s curriculum design
including objectives and plans for supervisionJob Duty ensure that
preparation for the capstone project aligns with the curriculum
design and sequence and is completed prior to the commencement of
the doctoral experienceJob Duty secure a valid and signed
memorandum of understanding for each doctoral capstone
experienceJob Duty maintain student records of capstone hours,
capstone project plan and objectivesJob Duty assist in the
development of a formal objective evaluation mechanism of students
performance and maintain recordsJob Duty develop and maintain
documentation including verification of capstone mentors expertise
and relevant licenseJob Duty ensure completion and dissemination of
doctoral capstone project that relates to the capstone experience
and demonstrates synthesis of in-depth knowledge in the focused
study areaJob Duty assists with counseling and remedial
interventions of students as appropriateJob Duty participates in
preparation of accreditation documents and outcome performance
assessment of studentsJob Duty represents the Program in regional,
state and national clinical education activities and programsJob
Duty able to travel often, as needed to address the needs of the
capstone programJob Duty participate on University and/or LMU-DCOM
committeesJob Duty complete required institutional, program
accreditation, and other reports necessary for the advancement of
University programs, both on campus and at extended campus sitesJob
