Post-Doctoral Research Associate - Nuclear Engineering US-Tennessee-Knoxville Regular Full-time, Pay Grade 00 Post-Doctoral Research Associate position (salary $4,700/month, anticipated starting date 01/01/2020): Post-doctoral researcher will be responsible for performing neutron total scattering experiments on a range of complex oxides. The research will involve the use of the Spallation Neutron Source and data analysis, and require familiarity with Reverse Monte Carlo modeling. Further experiments are planned on exploring the structure-property relation-ship in complex oxides and particularly on how local disorder affects the oxygen transport in these materials. The post-doctoral researcher will be expected to publish original research in refereed journal articles and work with a team of scientists from multiple institutions. The successful candidate will also be expected to work with both undergraduate and graduate students, as well as PhD level scientists. Qualifications:Position requires a PhD in energy science, nuclear engineering, materials science, or applied physics and profound expertise in neutron total scattering, broadband dielectric spectroscopy and Reverse Monte Carlo modeling.
