TheTickle College of Engineering (TCE) at the University of Tennessee,Knoxville, invites applications for a full-time research Coordinator III. Reporting to the Research Director, theCoordinator III will be a primary contact for faculty and support staff in theseven academic departments and six research centers comprising the TCE'sresearch enterprise. The Coordinator IIIwill have an active role in implementing efforts to enhance the success offaculty members relative to external funding. Primary duties include: providing technical assistance to facultymembers relative to all aspects of proposal support, from analysis of theRFP/solicitation, to the initial stages of proposal planning and budgetdevelopment, to facilitating internal/external collaborative arrangements,through final submission to sponsor; serving as liaison with internal andexternal constituencies to facilitate collaborative research activities,exchange information, and clarify procedures and requirements during theproposal stage; coordinating the strategic development of large proposals; participating in ongoing examinations of collegeresearch metrics and benchmarking data to facilitate strategic planning anddecision-making by college leadership. Minimum Required Educationand Experience: Bachelor'sdegree with at least eight years of related experience, or Master's degree withat least four years of related experience is required. Qualifications: * Yearsof experience should be directly related to sponsored research, preferablywithin a university environment or in a corporate setting with extensiveexperience with state and federal funding agencies * Minimumof 4 years of experience interpreting and applying federal regulations relativeto sponsored research * Experiencewith grant and contract policies of state, federal, private, and non-profitfunding agencies * Demonstratedability to work and/or lead within a team * Demonstratedstrong interpersonal skills to deal effectively and tactfully with personnel atall levels * Excellentworking knowledge of Microsoft Office applications; proficiency in MS Excel The Knoxville campus of theUniversity of Tennessee is seeking candidates who have the ability tocontribute in meaningful ways to the diversity and intercultural goals of the University.Screening of applicants will begin immediately and will continue until theposition has been filled.
