Job Title: VP, Trust Operations Reports To: Chief Operating Officer Classification: Full Time – Exempt Core PurposeThe VP, Trust Operations assumes responsibility for daily trust operational activities that contribute to the overall performance and goals of the operations department and The Trust Company of Tennessee – including maintaining compliance with trust operation procedures, overseeing money and securities movement, and increasing operational efficiencies with the assistance of team members. Responsibilities

  • Shows a commitment to The Trust Company's Mission, Core Values, and Client Promise.
    • Oversees daily reconcilements, cash and trade settlements, and money movement between our banking and custodial partners.
    • Understands operational systems used, including awareness of capabilities & limitations, and ability to navigate and utilize functions.
    • Able to determine root cause of issues, guide staff to resolution, and lead collaboration in the development of initiatives for systematic solutions.
    • Acts as senior point of escalation and resolves exceptions on most significant and complex issues.
    • Mentor, directly supervise, and develop the trust operations department staff, making sure everyone understands their roles and responsibilities to ensure alignment between trust operations and TTCs strategic plan.
    • Manages the filing and reporting of appropriate 1099R tax forms, assists with 5498 reporting.
    • Assists in the coordination of regulatory exams and audits. Qualifications
      • Bachelor's degree preferred
      • Five to eight years in Trust operations with supervisory experience
      • Experience with the SS&C InnoVest suite of products a plus
      • Knowledge of securities, trading, and principal and income reporting
      • Excellent leadership capabilities
      • Excellent interpersonal skills and verbal and written communication
      • Strong strategic and critical thinking skills
      • Ability to organize and prioritize tasks, detail oriented
      • Ability to develop, implement, and train end-users on process improvements geared towards increasing efficiencies
