Job Description:

General Purpose:Provide technical support in the laboratory. Assist the lab manager and supervisors in the laboratory operations. - -Job Duties and Responsibilities:Maintain Interstate Milk Suppliers (IMS) certification status for the laboratory to include General Cultural Procedure, Direct Microscopic Somatic Cell Count, Combi Foss, Bactoscan, and Antibiotic tests according to Appendix NMaintain all records required for IMS certificationOrganize, log and analyze samples to meet the requirements for IMS certificationMaintain equipment to include the Combi Foss and Bactoscan and other instrumentationMaintain laboratory supplies and daily use reagentsCommunicate test results and requests to producers and field staffTransmit or record test resultsMaintain records for producer and outside customer billingAnalyze samples accurately and in a timely manner including all calibration setsPerform all laboratory proceduresParticipate in annual IMS and Appendix N splitsAssist lab manager in special projectsKeep lab manager informed of pertinent information regarding the daily workings of the laboratoryThe requirements herein are intended to describe the general nature and level of work performed by employee, but is not a complete list of responsibilities, duties, and skills required. -Other duties may be assigned. -
