Massage therapists are responsible for greeting Blackberry Mountain guests in the Spa, making them comfortable, and providing them with 5-star massages and body treatments. The ultimate purpose is to provide relaxation and restoration to our guests. Must work with and aid other team members in spa operations to ensure a 5-star experience for the guest.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.Prepare room and tools necessary for scheduled treatments.Ensure treatment room and areas are clean and sanitized using approved sanitizing proceduresRestock treatment products in treatment rooms and all other areas as neededResponsible for removing and restocking all linen.Responsible for opening and closing dutiesTransport guestsAttend the front desk if the coordinator needs to step away brieflyPerform a variety of massage modalities including deep tissue and hot stone massagePerform a variety of body treatmentsMust be trained on new proceduresAny tasks deemed necessary by the manager to keep the spa clean stocked and operating smoothly.Ability to sell retailMust be able to perform a minimum of 5 hours of massage per shiftMust comply with all company policies and procedures.Regular and consistent attendance is required to perform the essential functions of this position.Must be able to work well with other Team Members, Managers, and interact with our guests.Must have the flexibility to work weekends and holidays.SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIESNoneEDUCATION and EXPERIENCEMust have TN State License required and required continuing education units550 + hours of instruction requiredSix months as a practicing Licensed Massage Therapist preferredLANGUAGE SKILLSMust have excellent verbal communication skillsMust be able to communicate effectively with guests, managers, and team membersMATHEMATICAL SKILLSBasic knowledge and understanding of mathREASONING ABILITYMust be able to exercise judgment and make decisions based on job knowledge and awareness of company goalsPHYSICAL DEMANDSMust be able to be on feet for most of the dayMust be able to lift up to 35 lbs.Must be able to perform multiple services during shiftMust be able to operate a company vehicle or golf cart safelyWORK ENVIRONMENT5,200 acres of Blackberry Mountain propertyMust be able to work in a calm and quiet spa settingBlackberry Farm and Blackberry Mountain, Relais & Chteaux properties located in the Great Smoky Mountains, continue the traditions of unparalleled hospitality and luxury that have always been the hallmark of the Blackberry brand.
