Minimum 1 year License: RN Certifications: PALS, BLS, APHON (for
oncology) Must-Have: Pediatric experience in a hospital, Pediatric
oncology experience preferred Description: Unit Information: The
unit includes Pediatric and Oncology care. There are 19 total beds,
with 13 pediatric beds and 6 oncology beds. The staff consists of
22 total members, including 10 pediatric nurses and 12 oncology
nurses. The unit is always staffed with at least 1 oncology nurse
per day. Day shift includes 4 RNs, 1 charge RN, 1 respiratory
therapist, and 1 patient care technician. Night shift includes 4
RNs, 1 charge RN, 1 respiratory therapist, and 1 patient care
technician. Patient ratios are typically 1:3, 1:4, or 1:5.
Equipment used includes Alaris pumps, with electronic medical
records managed through Cerner. Candidates must be detail-oriented
and organized. The unit floats to PICU and NICU. Staff is required
to wear navy blue or white scrubs. Weekend shifts consist of 6
shifts, with 2 being on Saturdays. This position is created to fill
a vacant role.
