Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Emergency Room Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience required License: Current state license required Certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS required; CPI and TNCC preferred Must-Have: Current experience in an emergency department setting Proficiency with blood product administration, emergency medications, and triage Ability to interpret dysrhythmias and manage ventilated patients Experience in administering continuous IV sedation and procedural sedation monitoring Description: This position involves providing emergency care to patients of all ages. Responsibilities include assessing patient conditions and implementing care plans. RNs in this role will manage a patient ratio of 4-5. Candidates should be able to float to other units as needed. Weekend shifts are required on an every other weekend basis. Staff may work with various interdisciplinary teams, including physical and respiratory therapy. Experience with electronic medical records, particularly Cerner, is preferred. The unit regularly handles cases related to respiratory failure, strokes, and sepsis. RNs will be expected to have skills in starting and maintaining IVs and performing phlebotomy. All certifications must be current and should not expire within 45 days of the start date. Travel experience is required for this position. Candidates should not have any requests for time off during major holidays. Aggressive patient care and teamwork are essential in this fast-paced environment.
