Job Description:

Children's Hospital, in partnership with the University of Tennessee Medical Center, is seeking a dedicated Pharmacy Tech to join our team. This role is vital in our mission to provide specialized health services and support pediatric trauma care. As a Pharmacy Tech at our hospital, you will be directly involved in the management and dispensation of medications for our unique patient demographic, ensuring safety and accuracy in treatment protocols. Assist pharmacists in preparing and dispensing medication directly to patients or healthcare providers. Maintain accurate patient records and inventory logs. Prepare sterile compound medications under the guidance of a pharmacist. Manage drug supplies and organize pharmacy inventory to ensure stock levels remain adequate. Support the pharmacists in the verification of prescription orders to ensure correct medication, dosage, and patient information. Provide information to patients and healthcare providers about medication therapy. Ensure the cleanliness and organization of the pharmacy area. Proficient in pharmaceutical terminology and medication management. Ability to operate and understand pharmacy computer systems and software. Strong organizational and communication skills. Detail-oriented with an ability to prioritize safety and efficiency. Capability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. Medical Insurance Dental Insurance Vision Insurance Life Insurance 401k Certification from the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) is preferred. Registered with the State Board of Pharmacy.
