Job Description:

The Helen Ross McNabb Center ( www.mcnabbcenter.org ) is a premier not-for-profit provider of behavioral health services. The Center provides quality care and serves all ages in a continuum of prevention, early intervention, social, co-occurring, addiction, outpatient and crisis services. The Center is seeking motivated staff members that possess the ability to relate to individuals and families of varied ethnic and cultural backgrounds, ages, educational levels and economic circumstances with respect and dignity. Excellent verbal, written and computer skills are necessary in order to work effectively and collaboratively with clients, collaborating agencies, and community professionals, as well as, maintaining proper documentation. Clinical staff members must be able to take and pass, without major modifications, a course in Handle with Care. This program requires hands-on, physical components to ensure the safety of the clients and staff. Clinical staff members must possess reliable transportation, ability to acquire an F endorsement on driver's license, and transport clients. HRMC is an Equal Opportunity Employer (EOE). HRMC is currently seeking a qualified and enthusiastic professional for the following position: Residential LPN - Full Time. JOB REQUIREMENTS Education/Knowledge : LPN with current Tennessee license and experience in psychiatric nursing preferred. LPN certification as Psychiatric/Mental Health Nurse preferred. Should have sound knowledge of psychiatric medications, diagnoses, treatment modalities and interventions. Ability to use computer. Experience : Experience in psychiatric nursing preferred. Experience in working with special populations including individuals with Severe and Persistent Mental Illness, Co-Occurring Disorders, and Dual Diagnosis Disorders preferred. Computer experience is helpful. Experience working in a crisis setting preferred. Physical : Exposure to biological hazards. Hearing of normal and soft tones. Close eye work. Frequent exposure to unpleasant odors. Lifting up to 50 lbs. Pushing/pulling up to 250 lbs. Frequent sitting, standing, walking, bending, stooping, and reaching. JOB SUMMARY Serves as a clinical member of the multi-disciplinary team, providing treatment, rehabilitation, and support for client population. LPN must be adept at multi-tasking. Provides direct medical care to clients, including clients in varying levels of crisis, frequently working with SPMI and client's with co-occurring issues. Assists with crisis interventions and medical emergencies, obtains vital signs each shift or more frequently as indicated. Administers intramuscular injections, communicate with PCPs during intake and discharge phases, and liaison with other agencies as indicated. LPN is responsible for triaging referrals, completing intake/assessments on all clients admitted during their shift, obtaining urine drug screens and pregnancy tests on admissions, obtaining admission orders, dispensing routine and PRN meds, taking off orders from prescriber and updating MAR, completing electronic and paper charting in a timely manner and participating in tx team meetings. Additionally, LPN may take calls from recently discharged clients requesting bridging rx, follow-up calls on weekends on discharged clients, obtain prior authorizations and coordinate with pharmacies. LPN collaborates with Mobile Crisis assisting with BHUCC client's being referred to higher level of care, completing S-BARs. Required to be certified in and adequately implement verbal and physical de-escalation techniques that include a wide range of bodily movements including but not limited to grasping, holding another person, going down on knees, running, and walking. Schedule requires rotating weekends. Regular attendance is an essential job function.
