Job Title: Quality Area Manager

Job Summary

Reporting to the Plant Quality Manager, the Quality Area Manager is responsible for providing leadership and support for food safety, regulatory compliance, SQF compliance, new product development, and raw material trials. The position provides support to the Operations Area Manager group and Quality Lab Technicians to achieve quality targets. You will be required to analyze quality data, validate/verify internal quality processes, conduct internal audits, and provide technical guidance and education on food science and quality issues. Your active participation in the Area Manager business group and input to other business functions is expected. You must be willing to work in a highly collaborative, team environment, and develop positive personal relationships within all employee groups for success in the Quality Area Manager position.

Key Responsibilities

• 
  
• Provide leadership and support for food safety, regulatory compliance, SQF compliance, new product development, and raw material trials
  
• Analyze quality data, validate/verify internal quality processes, conduct internal audits, and provide technical guidance and education on food science and quality issues
  
• Provide direct support to the Operations Area Manager group and Quality Lab Technicians
  
• Actively participate in the Area Manager business group and input to other business functions
  
• Develop positive personal relationships within all employee groups
  
• Willingness and flexibility to work on various shifts is required
  
  
  Job Requirements
  
  
  • 
    
  • Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Chemistry, Microbiology, or a related field
    
  • 5+ years of experience in quality assurance/food safety in a food manufacturing environment
    
  • Experience with regulatory and SQF compliance
    
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills
    
  • Ability to work in a highly collaborative, team environment
