Tombras, an independent, 400+ person, national full service advertising agency is searching for a WordPress Developer to join our Knoxville based development team.You'll be joining an Ad Age A List Agency. This position requires strong programming and debugging skills (namely PHP, HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript). The candidate should have a strong understanding of industry trends and content management systems. Experience with responsive design is strongly preferred. An understanding of the entire web development process, including design, development, and deployment is also important. This developer must be familiar with implementing visually rich websites using the latest web technologies but be capable of producing code and markup that will still render cross-browser.This position can be remote or in Knoxville, TN.What you'll be doing:Interact with development, UX and creative teams to understand scope of projects and offer elegant, creative and scalable solutionsEngage with digital teams, technical directors and digital project managers to define project specificationsDeliver quality websites and other digital projects that meet coding standards and cross-browser compatibilitiesHelp formulate an effective, responsive design and turning it into a working theme and/or pluginWhat you bring:Proven understanding of front-end technologies, including HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, jQuery. Working React, Redux, Vue are a plus.Comfortable building sites utilizing WordPress plugins such as Advanced Custom Fields, GravityForms, Gutenberg, etc.Experience building user interfaces for websites and/or web applicationsExperience designing and developing responsive design websitesComfortable working with debugging tools like Chrome Inspector, Firebug, etc.Ability to understand CSS/SCSS changes and their ramifications to ensure consistent style across platforms and browsersAbility to convert comprehensive layout and wireframes into working HTML pagesPrevious experience developing component-based WordPress websitesExperience interact with RESTful APIs and formats (JSON, XML)Comfortable using Git. Branching, merging, resolving merge conflicts.
