Job Description
Knowledge of Risk Management Framework requirements, development, and process
Knowledge of the DOE/NNSA cyber security program requirements.
Knowledge of DOE Order 205.1C and NIST 800-53.
Investigate security breaches and other cyber security incidents.
Install security measures and operate software to protect systems and information infrastructure, including firewalls and data encryption programs.
Document security breaches and assess the damage they cause, determining best recovery procedures.
This position will need to develop, implement and execute a defined routine, recurring vulnerability scanning methodology and frequency, with remediation happening on the order of days / weeks.
Develop a Cyber Training program for network administrators and users.
Work with security team to perform tests and uncover network vulnerabilities and mitigation strategies.
Stay current on IT security trends and news and develop company-wide best practices for IT security.
Help colleagues install security software and understand information security management.
Research security enhancements and make recommendations to management.
Conducting regular system tests and ensuring continuous monitoring of network security
Develop project timelines for ongoing system upgrades coordinating with other departments to refine timeline.
Ensuring all personnel have access to the IT system limited by need and role.
Establishing disaster recovery procedures and conducting breach of security drills.
Promptly responding to all security incidents and providing thorough post-event analyses.
Applicant must have knowledge of Cisco, Windows Server, Red Hat Linux, and VM Ware.
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Education Requirements Bachelor's degree in information security, information technology or a related field.
2 years of experience in Cyber Security.
Experience with computer network penetration testing and techniques.
Must be able to obtain a Department of Energy Q Clearance.
