The Web Services Group of the Information Technology Services
Directorate at the Oak Ridge National Laboratory (ORNL) seeks to
hire an associate-level Drupal Developer to design, develop, and
maintain ORNL web sites under the ornl.gov flagship web
presence.

As part of our team, you will---
Major Duties/Responsibilities:
Create web sites using the Drupal framework, often working on
multiple sites and with multiple customers during the course of a
sprint.
Follow the software development lifecycle from requirements
gathering through production implementation.
Collaborate with customers and act as a point of contact (POC)
throughout web projects.
Help formulate effective, responsive designs and turn them into
working themes, plugins, sites and applications.
Optimize web applications for maximum speed and scalability.
Create highly sophisticated, customized applications in response to
business needs.
Ensure high-performance and availability and coordinate all
technical aspects of the content management system.
Be a contributing and supportive member of the Drupal team.
Monitor and fix performance and platform related bugs as they
emerge.
Learn and abide by the operating policies and procedures of
ORNL.

Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree and two years of relevant experience required. An
equivalent combination of education and experience may be
considered.
Two years' experience as a Drupal developer.
Experience with all phases of software development including
requirements gathering and analysis, system design, prototype
development, site design, configuration control, testing, software
quality assurance, and maintenance.
Preferred Qualifications:
Understanding of the Drupal Content Management systems.
Understanding of HTML and CSS and its role in creating consistent
style across the sites.
Ability to thrive in a team environment through contribution and
participation.
Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Motivated self-starter with the ability to work independently and
to participate creatively in collaborative teams across the
laboratory.
Ability to function well in a fast-paced research environment, set
priorities to accomplish multiple tasks within project timeframes,
and adapt to constantly evolving needs.
