The successful candidate will be responsible for the Enterprise Data Warehouse (EDW) ETL development, deployment and monitoring and will work with the team designing the ETL process and exception handling. The ideal candidate will have experience in designing, developing and deploying ETL mappings and workflows, providing technical guidance to other resources and have experience in a variety of software development concepts and practices.
 
Job responsibilities:
• Works with a Data Architect to identify and understand source data systems
• Maintains maps of source system data to target system rules associated with ETL processes
• Develops and tests extraction, transformation, cleansing, and load (ETL) processes for data warehouse
• Adapts ETL processes to accommodate changes in source systems and new business requirements
• Maintains and enhances existing data extraction, cleansing, transformation, and loading processes to improve efficiency
• Assists with ongoing maintenance and organization of the Informatica repositories and metadata
• Identifies and investigates data quality/integrity problems, determines impact and provides solutions to problems
• Manages ETL defects, enhancements, and new functionality requests to meet changes in the business needs
• Develops, implements and enforces scalable and best practice ETL Architecture standards for all EDW data load processes
• Mentors/coaches others in Informatica, ETL and Data Warehousing by sharing knowledge, best practices and lessons learned from relevant past experiences
• Creates ETL deployment instructions including failure recovery procedure, and monitor successful data load of each ETL deployment
• Assists Quality Assurance teams in developing test scripts and test plans for validating the quality/integrity of loaded data
• Provides post-conversion/post-migration support and performs functional/data discrepancy analysis as needed
• Documents all processes and mappings related to ETL work and follows development best practices as adopted by the Data Warehouse team.
 
Required skills and experience:
• Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree OR a minimum of 8 years of experience and/or training in the technical Business Intelligence field, or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in querying and analyzing data sources to understand the data and determine logic for data transformations
• Minimum of 3 years relevant technical experience with data integration and/or EDW design and development
• Minimum of 2 years in a leadership role on an ETL or Data Warehousing team
• Excellence in oral/written communications, interpersonal relations, team cooperation and demonstrated ability to communicate with both technical and business stakeholders
• Proficient in analyzing business/data requirements, writing metadata definitions, and writing data mapping specifications
• Proficient in data analysis, defect identifications and resolutions
• Proven understanding of conceptual, logical, and physical data modeling
• Proven experience with full lifecycle development projects and Agile methodologies
• Excellent project management and problem solving skills
• Expertise with Informatica’s Product Suite, particularly PowerCenter and PowerExchange, including ability to design and develop complex Informatica mappings, sessions, workflows and identify areas of optimizations
• Proven Informatica development experience (Oracle database technologies preferred)
• Familiarity with Oracle database features such as materialized views, bitmap indexes, IOTs, external tables, etc. especially as ETL pertains to them
• Experience with Oracle 11g using RAC and ASM
• Familiarity with emerging technologies and software development best practices, particularly related to Enterprise Data Warehousing preferred
