motivatedprofessionalfor the following position: LPN - Behavioral
Health Urgent Care Center.
The LPN - Behavioral Health Urgent Care Center serves as a
clinical member of the multi-disciplinary team, providing
treatment, rehabilitation, and support for client population. The
LPN must be adept at multi-tasking. They will provide direct
medical care to clients, including clients in varying levels of
crisis, and will frequently work with clients having co-occurring
issues. They will assist with crisis interventions and medical
emergencies, obtain vital signs each shift or more frequently as
indicated. The nurse will communicate with prescribers, primary
care physicians, other medical facilities and agencies during the
client admission. The LPN must be proficient in typing, electronic
medical record and technology as well as paper charting of
medication administration records.
The LPN is responsible for triaging the intake, referrals,
completing assessments and discharge of all clients during their
shift, obtaining urine drug screens and pregnancy tests on
admissions, obtaining admission orders, dispensing standing order
PRN medications, taking orders from prescriber and updating MAR,
completing electronic and paper charting in a timely manner.
Additionally, the LPN may take calls from recently discharged
clients requesting bridging prescription, follow-up calls on
weekends on discharged clients, obtain prior authorizations and
coordinate with pharmacies. The LPN collaborates with Mobile Crisis
and Walk In clinicians assisting with BHUCC client's being referred
to higher level of care, completing CSSRS. Must be able to have
excellent attendance and start the work day at assigned time. Must
be able to work required 12 hour shifts.Schedule requires rotating
weekends. This is for a NIGHT SHIFT position. The schedule will be
as follows: 6pm - 6am with rotating days off (week 1 work
M-T-F-Sat-Sun with W-Th off, week 2 work W-TH with M-T-F-Sat-Sun
off). Regular attendance and punctuality is an essential job
function. This position provides shift diff. 4p-12p work hours gets
a 5% shift diff and 12a-8a work hours gets a 10% shift diff.
Education/Knowledge : Current LPN license in Tennessee. Computer
experience in a health care setting required. Knowledge of
psychiatric/mental health, A&D, and co-occurring disorders
preferred. CPR certified or willing to become certified.
Experience : Experience in working with special populations
including individuals with severe and persistent mental illness,
co-occurring disorders, and dual diagnosis disorders preferred.
Ability to use computer and electronic medical record. Must have
excellent people, role-modeling, and communication skills. Must
have excellent computer skills (including Windows, electronic
medical record, and email) and the ability to learn new software

dignity. Excellent verbal, written, and computer skills are
necessary in order to work effectively and collaboratively with
clients, collaborating agencies, and community professionals, as
well as maintaining proper documentation.
Physical : Exposure to biological hazards. Hearing of normal and
soft tones as well as close eye work. Valid driver's license.
Lifting up to 50 lbs. Pushing/pulling up to 150 lbs. Frequent
sitting, standing, walking, bending, stooping, and reaching. To
ensure the safety of the clients and staff, this position requires
certification in and adequate implementation of verbal and physical
de-escalation techniques ( Handle with Care ) that include a wide
range of bodily movements including but not limited to grasping,
holding another person, going down on knees, running, and
Compensation : Full-time salary ranges from $17.15 - $18.29 /
hour depending on education and experience.
