The Anatomy Assistant for the Lincoln Memorial University DeBusk
College of Osteopathic Medicine is responsible for meeting the day
to day requirements of all facilities that fall under the
supervision of the DCOM Anatomy Department. This will also include
assisting, in a professional nature, the Body Donation Coordinator
with the Anatomical and Trauma Donation Programs.
high school diploma
*B.S. in Biological Sciences or related area; *a minimum of two
years experience as an assistant in a laboratory setting;
*significant anatomic work experience; *laboratory teaching;
*experience with human cadaver work.
promote the mission of the Lincoln Memorial University to all
faculty, staff, students and the community at large.
reports directly to the Lab Facilities Manager.
promote effective working relationships among faculty staff and
responsible for the overall professional appearance of all
facilities and locations associated with the Anatomy
routinely maintains tissue storage and active materials throughout
all of the Anatomy Department facilities.
develops and routinely maintains physical laboratory inventory
lists; including but not limited to; skeletal and model
inventories, plastinates, laboratory supplies (chemicals, body
bags, PPE, tools, gloves and instruments), cadaver inventories
(fresh tissue, embalmed, other), wet specimen collections,
equipment (tables, cameras, computers, etc.) and testing
develops a monthly report to the Lab Facilities Manager on the
inventory lists described.
schedules a monthly meeting with the Lab Facilities Manager on any
concerns or updates with the lab facilities.
works closely with clinical workshop coordinators (student clubs
and clinicians) to procure tissues and required supplies.
assist the Lab Facilities Manager in development and setup of
clinical training workshops.
develop a working knowledge of safety and security in all
facilities and be able to communicate this knowledge to students,
faculty and staff as a group or individuals.
assist students in the laboratories with non-teaching needs (this
includes for example, moving cadavers, meeting equipment
requirements, instruments, using power tools for dissection).
works closely with the Body Donation Coordinator on procurement of
