funding for Knox Area Rescue Ministries.To tell the story of KARM
and KARM Stores.To reveal Christ in everything we do. History of
KARM StoresKARM Stores is part of the Knox Area Rescue Ministries
which has been serving the Knoxville homeless community since 1960.
KARM provides emergency services, meals, shelter as well as
recovery programs for those in need. KARM averages meals served
each day and can provide bed space for up to 400 every night. Today
KARM serves men, women and children through a variety of
progressive ministry programs designed to break the cycle of
homelessness. For the guests of KARM who are ready to change their
life, KARM has programs that assist with that. One of their most
successful programs is LaunchPoint Life Academy which will spend
time looking at the basics of getting a job, budgeting, and
creating a stable environment to build one's life back. The
Serenity Shelter is a program specifically for women. It includes
various recovery programs and safe havens.The Berea Program is an
unprecedented personal development opportunity at KARM focused on
work, learning, and service. The objective of Berea is to prepare
students for the abundant life God has planned for them and to
provide a strong, Biblical foundation to build a life upon after
KARM and have successful restoration into the community.All of
these programs require funding and that is where the stores come
in. One hundred percent of the profits earned through the retail
stores help fund Knox Area Rescue Ministries. Job Details
To process donations from donors to the retail department. This
includes, but not limited to, accepting, sorting and pricing
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE JOB
Is able to daily perform any of the required job duties within the
processing team. This includes all requirements related to
accepting donations, presorting and pricing merchandise.Welcome
donors in a timely manner in a way that makes them feel confident
KARM Stores appreciates them and understands their value.Handle the
receiving and donation process with the utmost respect and care
including, greeting the donor, assisting in unloading donations,
telling the KARM Stores story.Help maintain clean and well
organized reception, presort and processing areas.Ability to
recognize quality merchandise and effectively seek guidance on
pricing from Processing Manager.Work with and effectively
communicate with the Processing Manager, other processing employees
and donors on a daily basis.Daily serve with fellow employees so
that there is a healthy and productive work environment.Adhere to
daily and weekly production goals.Ability to produce quick and
accurate work in a face-paced environment.Effectively use the
donation receiving script to communicate appreciation, the KARM
Story, and Corner of Your Field to donors.

standard work day. Depending on location, this position may work in
a warehouse setting with some outdoor exposure throughout the
