Job Description:
The Portfolio Lead is a supervisor and project delivery leader,
withsubject matter expertise in an area we call Portfolio
Management atClayton. Roles that fall under this Lead role include
Project Managers,Project Coordinators, Application Support
Coordinators, and TechnicalTrainers. It is not expected that a
Portfolio Lead is an expert in allthose skill areas but will need
to have extensive expertise in at leastProject Management. The
Portfolio Lead role will first and foremost be apeople leader,
driving best practices and team member growth of theirteams. The
Portfolio Lead will also serve as a liaison between
multiplebusiness units and technology teams with the goal of
implementing newfunctionality for the
RetailPortfolio.Responsibilities:
- Provide leadership for your team and actively mentor the team
members onthe development of their skills.
- Partner effectively with business stakeholders and subject
matter expertsin a collaborative manner, building constructive and
effectiverelationships.
- Partner with the business and technology delivery teams to
ensure bestpractices and techniques are understood, documented, and
fit the needs ofthe organization.
- Partner with business stakeholders in the development of
business cases andproject vision documentation or supporting the
creation of those documentsas appropriate.
- Drive solutions from the ground up for complex, multi-phase
projects whileinspiring and engaging teams through
collaboration.
- Develop and enforce project delivery standards and establish
theorganization's approach to the full life cycle of projects, from
planning,initiation, budgeting, resourcing, execution, monitoring,
control, andcompletion.
- Review business and project processes and make
recommendations/implementchanges to improve and support our
activities.
- Develop and maintain projects plans to facilitate progress
reports andensure deliverables are met.
- Develop and maintain project risk/issue logs and ensure team
addressesoutstanding items to ensure timely delivery.Required
Skills:
- Proven ability to lead multiple, large-scale initiatives
through both peerleadership and directly managing the team members
assigned to the project.
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication
skills and theability to interact with a diverse group of team
members, includingexecutives, managers, end users across a variety
of business unites,technology professionals, and subject matter
experts.
- Proven ability to facilitate requirement workshops / training
sessions withlarge groups of business users and leadership.
- Break down technical complexities so that they can be easily
understood bybusiness units and end users.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Experience in process mapping, group facilitation, data
gathering andanalysis, and phases of project life cycle
(requirements gathering, design,development, deployment, training,
and measuring effectiveness) and/orAgile Development cycles.
- Strong ability to work effectively within time constraints,
changingpriorities, and independently.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite: Including Intermediate in
Excel,Word, and PowerPoint.
- Five or more years' experience as a project manager or other
similartechnology delivery role.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent technical and business
experience.Desired Skills:
- Proven ability to introduce new technology features and
functionality touser groups.
- May be responsible for developing, maintaining, and executing a
changemanagement strategy and plan which includes stakeholder
management,communications, training, and monitors overall
organizational readiness.
- Basic to Intermediate SQL query skills desired, but not
required.
- Background working with network engineers,
system/infrastructure engineers,or software engineering teams
