American Appliance Products LLC in Newport, is looking for a 1st (7:00am to 3:30pm) and 3rd (11:00pm to 7:30am) shift Maintenance Technician with both mechanical and electrical skill sets. JOB HIGHLIGHTS Installs, start up/shut down equipment in accordance with Company safety procedures for machine activation/shutdown while complying with OSHA requirements. Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical equipment. Plan and perform work with a thorough knowledge of electrical and mechanical theories and principles, writing specification, local and national electrical codes, properties of various materials, and principles of operation and application of electronic equipment. Perform preventive maintenance functions. Be able to work with and troubleshoot 480 volt power system. Read blueprints, schematics, and drawings. Maintains Company required performance and maintenance records for identified equipment. Troubleshoots and program Allen Bradley PLCs and Servo Drives. Ability to troubleshoot both high and low voltage equipment. Must be able to coordinate multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment. Receptive to training and performing functions in multiple areas. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment. Responsible for proper waste disposal. Must be able to successfully function both independently as well as within a cross shift team environment while being able to adapt to change. Assist the Maintenance Mechanics, Machinist, and Manager as needed. SELECTION CRITERIA Vocational or specialized training in electrical/industrial maintenance. Two (2) year Industrial Maintenance Certification or 3-5 years of Industrial Maintenance experience preferred. Three (3) year minimum experience and ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. A thorough knowledge of electrical components and equipment including the use of special instruments for diagnostic purposes. Ability to operate computer managed maintenance software. Ability to climb in overhead structures, to work beneath machines, and in close quarters performing analysis and repair work. Proven mechanical skills and aptitude. Ability to troubleshoot and repair Allen Bradley controllers. Ability to arc, mig, and tig weld. Must be able to provide your own working tools.
