Description: The Electrical Engineer strives to improve the way that care is delivered through customer-focused, innovative solutions and to improve business at DeRoyal through collaborative and efficient electrical design. The projects are challenging, novel, and energizing and will stretch an engineer to achieve new heights in their career. DeRoyal is looking for intellectually curious minds with a solid understanding of electrical and/or electromechanical concepts. This position will require an individual to handle electrical engineering aspects of various projects including: research, design, prototyping, testing, documenting specifications, design verification, and transfer to manufacturing. The following is a listing of the ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILTIES that an Electrical Engineer will be expected to perform. Other duties may be assigned. -- Develop conceptual design, perform calculations, and perform system studies. -- Designs electrical schematics -- Coordinates circuit board layout design with 3rd party -- Programs embedded systems -- Develops and maintains detailed electrical schematic drawings and PCB layout specifications using CAD software (Altium, Solidworks Electrical, etc.) -- Ensure conformance to applicable engineering codes and standards as well as company policies and procedures. -- Coordinate with and consult other engineers and designers to design, layout, or detail components and systems and to resolve technical and other issues. -- Organizes own work to meet deadlines set by others. -- Communicates information, asks questions, and verifies for understanding. -- Contributes to a team environment. -- Prepare Capital Expenditure Requests as needed for new projects. -- Coordinates with suppliers for building of prototype and production products -- Prepares technical documentation pertaining to electrical design and development -- Defines testing protocols pertaining to testing electrical systems -- Provides innovative electrical engineering solutions to complex problems -- Participates in new product development teams and product launch teams to facilitate the introduction of new products. -- Applies electrical engineering theory and problem-solving techniques to address product design and fabrication issues. -- Monitors trends in engineering technology and assists with recommendations that will help to maintain our technical edge. -- Participates in the design, specification, and start-up of manufacturing equipment. -- Provides electrical engineering technical support to manufacturing, quality, marketing, customer service, and management as needed. -- Works with a minimum of supervision. OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES: -- Embedded microprocessor experience -- Basic analog circuits experience -- Electromechanical drive mechanisms experience -- Schematic level design -- Printed circuit board layout experience -- Programming of embedded systems -- Integrated circuit component selection Education Level : -- BS in electrical engineering with electromechanical experience or embedded engineering experience/discipline from and accredited four-year college or university and a minimum of 5 years related experience. A Masters degree from an accredited university or college is preferred. Other Skills and Abilities : -- Ability to operate standard office equipment including a photo-copier and fax machine. Prior experience using personal computer and standard spreadsheet and word processing software packages required. Prior experience with current revision AutoCAD software and/or Pro-Engineer CAD software required. Previous experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
