Job Description:

JOB SUMMARYResponsible for the safe and timely transport of inpatients to and from the Radiology Department, as well as, the return transport of patients to the Emergency Department when requested. Responsible for the documentation of all patient transports occurring each day in the Daily Transport Log. Responsible for scheduling and tracking patients in the Horizon Enterprise Viewing (HEV) computer system. Must ensure that all patient transports are scanned using the Radiology Information System Barcode Scanner. Communicates effectively with all patients, coworkers, supervisors, and other hospital staff; ensures all transport equipment is in good and safe operating order; uses safety and assistive equipment at all times, utilizing proper body mechanics with the handling of patients and equipment to reduce the risk of injury.JOB SPECIFICATIONSEducation and/or experience: High school graduate or equivalent preferred. Previous experience in healthcare is beneficial. CPR certification required upon hire or successful completion within three months of hire.Knowledge: Must have working knowledge of computer systems and Microsoft Excel.Skills: Communicate clearly both written and verbally.Abilities: Must be able to lift a minimum of 100lbs without assistance.Location: Blount Memorial Hospital RadiologySchedule: Full Time (0.75 - 1.0), Days, 6:30am-3:00pm
