Manager Centralized Functions
Role summary
Manage a department of five groups, two Assistant Managers. Total
of eleven employees, responsible for
- Regional Sourcing Office, Export and Cost Competitive
sourcing
- Service Parts and Accessories Purchasing
- Purchasing systems, reporting and training
- Material cost and performance tracking, product cost optimization
process, planning round development
- Capacity Management, bottle neck steering for group affiliated
components
Represent Purchasing in Production Board Meeting, Investment
Committee and other investment and program related meetings locally
and in the GroupRepresent Purchasing in Product Cost Optimization
meetings and coordinate purchasing activitiesStrategic planning to
ensure demand and production programs can be metDevelop continuous
improvement ideas to optimize purchasing processes and
systemsManage service parts and accessories purchasing process and
implementation of service parts strategiesManage the material cost
and performance reporting process for purchasing to ensure target
achievement
Role responsibilities
Manage and lead a team of buyers to ensure alignment of strategic
plans for the regional sourcing officeDevelop sourcing strategies
regarding focus supplier and focus parts in the NAR RegionIdentify
new group suppliers and technologiesIdentify cost competitive
sourcing opportunitiesAct as the central partner to the Group
purchasing teams related to US / CA suppliersDevelop strategies to
increase US Dollar sourcing for the GroupManage supplier
relationships for the sourcing processManage and lead team of
buyers for Service parts and accessories, drive localizations to
meet business planDevelop strategies to implement Group genuine
parts strategy in the US to increase overall service parts
salesEnsure service part availability at parts deports and
dealersEnsure purchasing systems are implemented according to cycle
plan, identify improvement opportunities, roll out of new
systemsDevelop training plans for various purchasing functions,
ensure proper training for new systems and processesCoordination of
ISO activities within the purchasing departmentConduct process
improvement workshops and ensure proper documentation and training
of improved processes and proceduresDevelop and provide various
reports to Purchasing management as requestedCoordinate with
Logistics capacity management process to ensure demands can be
fulfilledRun weekly demand/capacity management review process with
purchasing managementRepresent Purchasing in various production and
program decision meetingsEnsure on time development of capacity and
force majeure studies to support various volume and take rate
scenariosContinuous improvement of capacity process with production
purchasing, readiness purchasing, logistics, quality, and
engineeringEnsure transparent and prioritized capacity analysis to
meet future demandsCoordinate and present capacity investment
presentations to top managementCentral contact for Group and COP
part capacity analysis and demand assuranceManage the material cost
and performance tracking with controlling to ensure proper and on
time reportingManage the product cost optimization process within
Purchasing as well coordinate purchasing activities with
engineering and other related departmentsParticipate in business
plan meetings with commodities to support target
achievementCoordinate planning round activities for
PurchasingBudget responsibility for Central Functions
