POSITION GOAL To ensure HVAC control systems are installed, operated and maintained in an efficient manner, as district needs demand. Work area in Asheville, NC; Johnson City, TN; and Ft. Jackson, SC QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor's degree in Electronic Technology Field or Equivalent. Ten years of experience or knowledge in HVAC Direct Digital Controls and related HVAC systems. Possess and maintain a clean valid Class D driver's license. Ability to pass drug screening and background check. Good personal appearance, positive attitude and dependable. Work independently in the absence of supervisor. Travel primarily regional KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES Ability to read and interpret Direct Digital Controls (DDC) control drawings, schematics and technical specifications. Knowledge of automation systems, HVAC, electrical concepts and building operations. Skilled in programming, commissioning, graphic design. Experience working with HVAC, Access and/or building automation systems Proven analytical and troubleshooting skills. Working experience with Windows and Microsoft Office products. Ability to use appropriate meters and gauges. Ability to perform the responsibilities listed below. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES Thorough understanding of control theory and control concepts. Delivers technical support, coaching and direction to end-users and employees when applicable. Completes and submits written service orders and reports covering all aspects of each assignment and activity. Working experience with Windows and Microsoft Office products. Identifies additional chargeable opportunities including time & material work, system upgrades and service contract expansion. Works well with employees and customers. Provides technical support and basic training to customers. Ability to use appropriate meters and gauges. Ability to perform the responsibilities listed below. Diagnose, repair, calibrate and make adjustments to electric, electronic and pneumatic HVAC controls. Install and program DDC controls and associated components, i.e., Metasys, Tridium/Niagara, Honeywell, Alerton, Lon, BACnet, and Modbus. PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES Tie In and Terminate Wires to Front End Controllers. Installation of conduit and cable. Diagnose and repair variable frequency drives. Operate computer based control systems, establish run schedules and parameters. Identify and report system repair needs and safety discrepancies when noted. Work safely from ladders, scaffolding platforms and lifts. Maintain accountability and inventory for assigned tools and equipment. Strong organizational skills. Team player who is cooperative, cordial, empathetic and supportive to meet internal and external expectations and requirements. Perform other duties as assigned by the Division Supervisor. Assist in estimating and planning maintenance and construction projects. Assist in the design and specification of HVAC control systems and verify the performance of completed work. Leadership in promoting and directing our service initiatives: setting the example, informing and promoting the program, application and administration of techniques and programs.
